まちあるき（散歩）第一日目は、赤坂氷川神社にて行いました。アメリカ大使館の向かいに位置する、この緑豊かな境内は、1000年以上もの歴史を有する神域です。神主さんは声の記念碑を温かく迎えてくださいました。
Our first meditation procession was at Akasaka Hikawa Shrine. A green oasis across from the American Embassy, this has been a sacred Shinto site for more than one thousand years. The shrine’s priest welcomed us to share the Koe No Kinen Hi.

立派に生い茂る木々の間を練り歩きながら、参拝に訪れる方々が音のモニュメントと触れ合い、耳を傾けました。樹齢400年を超える大銀杏は、第二次世界大戦中に米軍の空襲により深刻な被害を受けたそうです。
